Avery loves following me around in the mornings (ok, all the time) when I get ready for the day. She tries on shoes or socks while I get dressed, spends 20-30 minutes putting on lotion and asking, "I open dis one, Mom?" -- mascara, no; lip gloss, sure -- and brushing each makeup brush on where ever she thinks each one goes... "dis for eyes, Mom." I finally had my camera nearby to snap some pictures of her making herself at home in my closet and trying on shoes after shoes. I told her to say, "cheese" once and from then on she wanted a picture of herself in every pair she tried on. Where did she learn these poses?? I have no idea!
Quick stop to say 'HI!' to Ben, who had found his way in from playing in the playroom
Having some extra time that morning without much on the agenda, I took a few minutes and curled Avery's hair and painted her nails. Rudy was at school, so it was nice to give Avery some extra attention!
She was so proud of her nails. She picked out 5 different colors - one for each finger on each hand
I had to put a chair in the middle of the kitchen so she wouldn't be tempted to touch anything while she waited for them to dry. She did a great job, though!
This girl... perfect mix of Tom and Sally :)
