On the Move!

Finally time to move... again!... but this felt much better than any of the other times (obviously!)
I have the best helpers :)

We decided to move back home and ever since then it was a race to get home for Christmas.  Mapping out what we had to get done, it would be close, but it seemed possible.  And if we were to move home a week or two after Christmas.. well that just wouldn't be as special as being HOME for Christmas.  But every day mattered and every week changed our plans.. it was an emotional rollercoaster (but what hasn't been when it comes to this house?!).  We didn't know just how close it would be, but it was close.  We were waiting on the plumber to come hook up the toilets and a sink (yes, that's singular) to determine if we could pull off the big move in time - and in his defense, he had about one days notice.  Like I said, every day mattered.  John worked nonstop and I was near breaking point with the kids and trying to pack a house and prepare for Christmas.  On Wednesday we didn't know if we would be able to move that weekend or not, which was the weekend before Christmas that was on Thursday (and our last chance to move if we wanted any help).  But when the plumber showed up on Friday, it was game-on!
We called our amazing (amazing!) family and friends on short, short notice to come help us move on Saturday morning.  We are so fortunate for the help we have, I can't say it enough...
It only took us the morning to get everything moved over -- there wasn't much to take as so much had been gotten rid of... and my mom, Patti, Carla, and Jenna hung around afterwards to help me clean floors, make beds, and put away clothes.  We had bedroom furniture set up, and we put together the toy room (couch, TV, rug, toys) that would become where we spent most of our time while we got situated...
And wouldn't you know, once we were all snuggled in that evening... it rained :)
I can't explain in words how great it felt to be back home that night.  There was so much to do and so much undone, but we were home.
