Keough's Come to Town

The Keough's came to town to visit and we soaked up as much fun and sun as we could in the couple days they were here!  John took Avery and Rudy with him and everyone to Knights Action Park.  Ben and I had doctor's appointments so we stayed back…

Avery had never been to Knights and Rudy had just been the once with me last summer.. the kids had a GREAT time.  Avery was fearless.  She did every slide without hesitation and again and again.  Rudy was a little hesitant.  He did the slides, but took some convincing.

Rudy just loves being with all "the guys"
They took a break from the water and cruised around in the go-carts.  Rudy wasn't interested, but fearless Avery jumped right in!
You can barely see her poking out, but she had a blast riding with Dad!
Later that day it was time for Birthday Party, Round 1 for this special birthday boy:
Nicolette and LeeAnn took care of all the party planning - dinner, dessert (all 3 cakes!), and decorations.  With Ben's age its easier to host the parties so he can get to sleep when he needs to and the other kids can stay up late and party :)
Rudy took out all 9 candles - 3 for each cake - like a champ!  He's been waiting so anxiously all summer for his "happy" - which is a long time for a three year old!

Diggin' in!
Hot mess...
Ben and Papa Ray hanging back, staying away from messing hands and faces!!
We had some unbelievably amazing weather the week leading up to Rudy's birthday (where was that when I was pregnant?!) so we took the presents out to the patio…
Rudy's favorite (at least initially) was the pack of new balls - as if he doesn't have so many already, it's still his favorite!  He couldn't wait to try them out...
Almost got him!...
Safe!
And one last treat for the party - a baseball piñata!  Rudy was happy enough just to hit the ball, the fact that candy came out rocked his world...
One of Rudy's birthday presents from the night was the movie, "Angels in the Outfield" - let's just say it was a hit… imagine that!
"Angels, Mom!"

Our guests weren't able to stay through the weekend, but we were happy to have them - made Rudy's birthday celebration that much longer!  Lucky guy :)
