Ho Hum

I l.o.v.e. fall.  More than any other season, fall is so peaceful to me.  I love just about everything about it.  If I jot down what we have been up to and look at our calendar, we really haven't slowed down much, but it just feels so much different.  More laid back.. more go with the flow.. ho hum.. peaceful.

So our ho-hum moments lately:

With the dad's away, Jenna and I decided to have an evening together with the kids, pizza party style.  And why not do baths together, too?

They will hate us in approximately 15 years.

An impromptu pool party on a crazy hot day, out of nowhere.  The weather had cooled down and seemed like it was fall, when suddenly we had about a week of mid-summer weather.  I figured we should take advantage and soak up some sun while we could.

Lots of walks.

Barnes and Noble for a Curious George reading and activity day.  Avery gets right in the mix and Rudy was a big fan of the coloring and snack portion of the event.

Hanging up his banana for George.

Followed by lunch with Gran!

Lazy Sunday's at Gran and Papa's for football (there is nothing quite lazy about Sundays when two kids are around, but its fun to still call it that)
Don't get any ideas, kid.  Stay away.  Stay far away.
Band-aids apparently help all cuts and bumps.. even if it's on top of hair

Playing outside

Helping Dad work on the bathroom...almost done!!

Avery is such a big girl now, that she can ride in the cart and Rudy LOVES getting to ride in the back.  Avery is pretty happy about her new view, too!
Finding and killing spiders.. one evening Gran and I were cleaning up the back patio.. which included taking the broom and knocking down spider webs (why are spiders so bad this year?!  They are everywhere!!).  We found a huge spider on one web and shrieked when we knocked it down and before stomping on it.  Rudy was so into the whole thing.  He loves to be "scared" of spiders, but he isn't scared at all.  In fact he once brought me a large spider, held between his thumb and index finger, all proud and "scared" at the same time... "Ahh, mom, look!  A spider!  Eeek!".. but he was holding it!  Gran has lots of spider decorations.  He loves it.  Especially acting scared to get close and touch them.  So when one morning I walked out and found him with his broom raised attempting to knock down a spider, I wasn't surprised.  He really had found a spider.. luckily it was on the outside of the window!!

An late afternoon/evening spent watching Josh's 3rd grade football team play on SHG's field.
Avery and I came a little later than John and Rudy so Avery could finish her nap.  When I walked up with Avery in her stroller, Rudy ran up, stuck his face in the stroller and said, "Sissy!  Ball ball!!" and pointed to the field.  It was so cute how excited he was to tell his sister where we were and how AWESOME it was! (to him, of course!)
Rudy and Jorja had lots of fun.  Rudy kept running up and down the bleachers yelling, "Let's go!"  And when the game was over he was able to check out the field a bit...

Afterwards, the 9 adults and 7 kids went out to dinner.  Fun, but a bit overwhelming, too!  Especially when our children were by far the most high maintenance!

More to come on our "Fall Bucket List"..
