Fun Family Fall Weekend!

I loved so much about our weekend together.  It's only every third week that John gets Saturday AND Sunday off with us and we took full advantage of this last one!

We started out our day with a trip to Bomke's Pumpkin Patch.  It was awesome!  And such great weather, too.  The kids had a lot of fun. There was "pop-pop" to be ate, lots of "balls" around (aka pumpkins), and plenty of photo opps!

Inside the barn there was a musician playing some sort of instrument that was similar to a guitar (but laid flat?) and when Rudy started grooving to his tunes, he played some favs of Rudy's... twinkle twinkle litte star, itsy bitsy spider.. and Rudy showed off his hand motions and dance moves to everyone around.

We took a hayrack ride down to a petting zoo where Rudy was so brave and wanted to feed every animal.

There was also a playground area (instead of sand boxes, there were corn boxes)
 Best. Dad. Ever.

Rudy picked out three "balls" - one for himself, one for Sissy, and one for his mama.
"Here Mom"

The next day we geared up for a day of football watching at home.  John cooked up a huge pot of chili (which was actually 2 pots because we didn't have one big enough to hold as much as he made!) and had some friends and family over.  Kurt and George joined us for our weekly game day fest, and the Davlin's and Allotey's came after naptime.  And what a perfect night to break out our new fire pit and make s'mores!

George and Rudy hanging in "Cozy Corner"... until Rudy ditched George for his friends, even after he promised George he wouldn't!

 Rudy's first bite of s'more...
"How can I have s'more?  I haven't had anything?" was referenced, naturally!

This picture just cracks me up!

So... for the record:
  • Hayrack ride:  Check
  • Visit a pumpkin patch:  Check
  • Make s'mores:  Check
  • Bonfire:  Check
  • Make chili:  Check
