Our favorite Fall Festival
We took our annual trip to the Lincoln Park fall festival with Gran...

Admiring the finished product:

"Whoa!"
A blue Spiderman, a red Spiderman, and a blue ice princess :)
We also designed and built our own fairy house:

A "Spooky Sleepover"
We hosted a Halloween-themed (my fav) sleepover with the Allotey's.  We ordered pizza, baked Halloween cookies, colored Halloween pictures, and best of all, Gran led us through a spooky Halloween story.  She had all the props - including mystery bags of ooey-gooey-items to go along with the story... like the brains of a witch (spaghetti), her eye balls (peeled grapes), her heart (a canned peach), and several more!  As you can see, a couple of the kids couldn't even stand to stay on the blanket!  We all had a chance to put our hand in the bag to feel the item and it was sooooo exciting/hilarious to see the kids' reactions.  Afterwards, we let them in on the secret of what was really in the bags and then they were all for checking the things out then.
Bedtime stories in their Halloween jammies :)
The next morning the kids were in the basement playing and Jannette and I were working on a delicious breakfast, when we found Ben...
This kid certainly keeps us on our toes!

Lego Man

Avery got to have a trip to the salon for her second haircut!  Her hair was past her waist and Rudy thought it was hilarious when they were in the shower and it would touch her bummy.
Becky gave her quite the royal treatment...

...hairstyle and all :)
We also decided the time had come for Bubs to have a real, big-boy hair cut!

Unfortunately, we weren't thrilled with Take 1 (and I know I have a pic somewhere, just not finding it!).  John thought Ben looked too much like his Mom :)
SO we tried out another option:  The Chop Shop
A total 180 on stylists...but the double-suckers remained
SUCH a handsome little man!

Lowe's is a fun spot during the holidays with all the inflatables available for viewing

I took the kids for their flu shots:  Check out the difference in demeanor before the shots arrived...
No fear, ready for her shot:
And then there is this one - took myself and two nurses to hold him down (head-shaking emoji)

T-Ball Party
We rounded out our fall t-ball league with a pizza party at the Barrel Head

Two teams, full of great kids, and two great coaches :)

The gym John works out at had a Halloween costume party - with a costume contest that we couldn't resist competing in!  Luckily Allotey's had a (mystery) van (machine) so we could really complete our look
And of course WON!
And speaking of competitions, John competed in another Crossfit competition...
and of course his biggest fans were there to cheer him on!

Jack-O-Lantern Festival at the Carillon
We took the kids to the jack-o-lantern festival at Washington Park - one of my favorite fall activities.  It feels like we step back in time to a small town out of a movie.
The Cubs were in the playoffs and they projected the game onto the Carillon - and the kids loved the part when they played "Go Cubs Go" and the crowd loudly joined in!
An attempted photo op

This kid..

And speaking of Cubs in the playoffs, Gran was successful at turning all the kids into Cubs' fans during the playoffs.  She taught them the song, bought them gear, taught them player's names, etc.  She came game ready - in her superstitious 4 articles of Cubs gear attire - whenever there was a  game on

Playing hair stylist with Miss Avery :)
She rarely likes to have her hair "done" - she likes having it down "like mom"

Soaking up some fall sun while Rudy is at school

Sweet, sleeping baby

JP delivered a bag of out-grown clothes and these boys LOVE it!

Does it get any better than a snuggled up, sleeping Bubs?!

An exciting treat - a trip to my office!
I had a few things I HAD to get turned in one day so I was left with no other option but to bring the two along for a quick stop.  We brought coloring supplies and I set them up with some "paper work" to get done and they LOVED it.  It was so talked about that I had to make a special trip for Rudy after school one day... forgot how fun an office can be!

Nora hosted a princess tea-party at her house for her birthday party
Such a beautiful group of princesses!

And last up, Halloween parties at school and trick-or-treating!
Ben crashed :)
Since Rudy's class is there full-days, they were able to participate in the all-school costume parade!
Parents get to come to the school gym and watch the kids walk by in their costumes.  They all parade through and it's such a fun little treat!
After school, Isabela came over and we celebrated Halloween and Grandma's birthday

...before our friends all came over and we headed out for some neighborhood trick-or-treating!
Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie
