We have been lucky enough to have some visitors this past month...just because!
Uncle Tony came on the train the weekend of my birthday (I hope Rudy is as nice to his sister when they are older and visits her on her birthday!)
Uncle Tony arriving on the train was so thrilling to the kids. Rudy was SO impressed with the "Big choo-choo!" The anticipation of it coming to the station, seeing Tony get off, and watching it roll away was a very high point in the weekend.
The kids were pretty relentless with wearing out Tony, which was to be expected.
Rudy catching Avery...
and Avery catching Tony...
Pretty girl :)
Of course we had to make a trip to the mall... Rudy kept saying, "Me ride choo-choo" - it really wasn't fair that Uncle Tony got to ride and he didn't!
The shoe store right across from the loading spot of the train has a mini carousel. It's nice to be able to ride when it's just the three of us and I can't leave our stuff behind, but it's quite a dizzy-ing ride for any adult... so I let Uncle Tony enjoy the ride this time!
He also was so nice to bring us the movie, "Frozen." We watched "Ice," as Rudy called it, on repeat for a good couple weeks. I spent days singing those songs! I got a text from my mom one day, "I'm walking down the hall at work singing 'Let it Go' in my head sashaying my hips as I walk." Crack. Me. Up. Can't say I wasn't doing the same around our house!
Tony was quite exhausted when he left (and throughout most of his trip!). He had offered to come stay with us for a week after Ben is born to help out... I told Mom I think he'll be rescinding his offer. 36 hours at our house was a lot of work for him! :)
A few weeks later Aunt Dawn and Kate came to stay with us for a long weekend. John was at work the day their train came in, so we left the house a little early and went to visit Dad first. Fire truck and a train... pretty great day for these two!
The kids climbed all the way up to the top of the bucket with Dad (individually! And I was holding my breath the whole time!)
Saturday morning Kate (aka "Ten") went to Gymnastics Zone with us and we all had a good time running, jumping, and swinging around! (I can't imagine why Dawn and Mom would choose to have mani/pedis during this time?!)
It was a tad chilly, but we couldn't resist some outdoor time at the park afterwards. The ducks were out and hungry and the play equipment was ready for us!
George and Rudy enjoying juice boxes and a little snack before bedtime! (Later that week George was our very first non-grandparent babysitter! I had a chiropractor appointment so George came over to play with the kids for an hour while I was gone. Avery was sad to see me go, while Rudy basically closed the door in my face. They were all giggles when I got home, though - so excited to show me how they were jumping all over George!)
And just a few pictures of our happy Peach :)
One morning while they were here, I woke up around 6, then 6:15, again at 6:30 - thinking, "I can't believe Rudy still isn't up." Finally at 7:00 Avery woke up so I went to get her and noticed Rudy's door was open. Avery and I get out to the living room to find Dawn and Rudy snuggled up on the couch watching cartoons. Apparently Rudy woke up about 6 and yelled for Dawn instead... lucky her! :)
We all love having visitors and are so lucky to have family that makes the trip to come stay with us!
I get asked about once a week, "Dawn me house? Ten me house? Play? Now?"
