Happy New Year

We have had some amazing, big milestones happen in the last few years...

2009:  Bought, redid, and moved into our house
2010:  Got married
2011:  Had our precious Rudy
2012:  ??  Maybe we are in need of a simple, not life-changing event filled year!  But then again, who knows what it will bring?!

We had a fun New Year's Eve.  John and I took Rudy to his first "kid" birthday party.  Jorja turned 1!  Jorja is the cutest little girl ever and she was having a blast at her party.  Rudy had a great time, too!

In the evening, Gran and Grandpa Ballweg came over to our house to watch Rudy for us.  Gran brought party hats and they had their own little NYE par-tay!

John and I went out for a few hours for drinks and dinner with the Allotey's and Leonard's.  We had a really good time and it was nice to come home early to a sleeping baby.

I had to set my alarm to wake up and tell John "Happy New Year" --  some may think it was a lame NYE, but I wouldn't have changed a minute of it.

I have to rant for a quick second -- one thing I am definitely NOT looking forward to in 2012 is hearing about it being the "end of the world" on December 22.  Some of your may remember, but I had a difficult time with the apocalypse theory.  I have never been more happy and I absolutely love the life John and I have built together and the path we are on...how dare someone try and tell me it is going to be so quickly taken away before we get to have and raise all our children and are old and grey, sitting in rocking chairs on the front porch talking to each other about nothing because we can't even hear what one another is saying.  Now if God happens to have some other plan for us, fine, I could accept that, but not some stupid theory that threatens to take it all away -- and I wouldn't even think about it except it will be talked about everywhere, nonstop.  I am going to do my best to avoid it!  And if it is God's plan, then we will just have to make 2012 one heck of a year!!  There.  I'm done.

Some things to look forward to this year are lots of babies!! -- Jannette and Josh Allotey will be welcoming a new baby in August, along with Tom and Nicole St. Jules in July, and Sara and Eric VanDerWal in June...Rudy's friends are multiplying!!  So happy for all of them and their families!!

Happy New Year everyone!!!  Prayers for a happy and healthy year!! :)

  1. I agree with your rant. We had a good 2011 and I am so excited to see what 2012 will bring to our whole family! I love seeing all the nieces and nephews growing up and have so enjoyed meeting Rudy. I am not going to allow negative thoughts to take up residence in my head in 2012!

  2. I thought I read or heard somewhere that "they" decided that whole 2012 end-of-the-world thing was all wrong. I mean, I always thought it was wrong, just like that guy who predicted it TWICE in 2011. Just remember in the Bible, Jesus said, "Nobody knows the hour or the day," so we just have to carpe diem!!!! Happy New Year to all!
