How Ben spends his time while we wait for Avery at dance class
Mom and I and her friend Tracy were lucky enough to get to spend an afternoon/evening doing a couple of our favorite things - drinking wine and crafting! We painted some beautiful clay masterpieces and then had to wait for them to be fired. Unfortunately (fortunately for us?!), it took forever to get them fired so we went through maybe too many bottles of wine while we waited... but SUCH a fun time!

Some fun at the Gymnastics Zone open gym - a favorite place for all!
Look at that big girl go!
Rudy had been saving his money for forever. I mean forever because I don't really think he realized it could be spent. Every time we go to the toy store or play at VanDerWal's, he LOVES riding the power wheels cars/trucks/etc. Rudy told me one night that he wanted to buy Ben one for his birthday, with his own money. It was the sweetest. Of course I didn't want to actually spend the full-price money on them so I found one at a pre-garage sale. My dad, Rudy and I went to pick it up one evening and test it out - Rudy thought it was just perfect! Then we had to store it at Uncle Kurt's until the big day... talk about struggling on that wait!
Helping with the dishes
Tony came in town and requested that Grandma Barb(ie) teach him how to make her famous caramel popcorn. I wanted in on that action! Grandma's handwritten recipe definitely left out the details/tricks she showed us that afternoon. The kids were SO impressed by the air popper and LOOOOVED fresh, warm caramel corn afterwards!
