All attention on Ben! Love seeing him get in the mix
Ben has taken up a love for baseball. He is quite the mimic and wants to do whatever his brother does!
One day we were playing outside when the kids found a caterpillar. They were SO excited! We followed it around, got it to crawl onto a stick, leaf, our hands...
Then we decided we should bring him home! And we had the perfect house!
Sadly, our caterpillar did not make it long. Kids kept checking on him and he was sleeping a lot. They couldn't wait for him to turn into a butterfly.
It was the night before Rudy's birthday and I was up late decorating and wrapping when out of nowhere a butterfly flew right past me and landed about 6 inches in front of me. I couldn't believe it! I was brave and thought I might try and catch it. Sure enough, I did!
Rudy woke up and exclaimed that it was a "birthday miracle!" What a memorable morning!
We had a fun family party that evening with presents, cakes, and a pin-yan-a!
Of course everyone gets a turn getting sung to...
Two-thumbs up for homemade birthday cake (that was pitiful and more time than it was worth! - you live and learn!)
Rudy picked a zoo birthday party for his "friend party" -
We also lucked out and the Firefighters' Club was having a summer party that same day. Ben stayed back to nap and we were able to take Rudy and Avery.

Ahh yes... this was... fun?
I think it was Mom who showed me the idea of taping bubble wrap to kids' feet and letting them paint. I usually have plenty of bubble wrap to go around (thanks to Amazon!) so we decided to try it out!
and of course...
Play date at the book store while the big kids are in school
And on the one year anniversary of our worst day ever, we made rainbows :)
