We were lucky enough to get to host a few of our favorite visitors for an overnight stay in October. It was the first time the kids had another kid their age sleeping over! Aidan joined with his mom and dad and a crowd-favorite, Chris for a fun couple days. We started out with a trip to the pumpkin patch. What seemed like an ok day to go, turned out to be very windy and more chilly than expected! We still soaked up as much fun as we could...
Enjoying some yummy popcorn and apple cider (apple coffe as the kids call it since its hot like coffee, I guess?) inside the barn
Lots of action shots playing at the playground
Super huge pumpkins and tractors...doesn't get much better than that!
...unless of course there is a baby goat to meet :)
Quick run through the bean maze and we were off!
Ben was with us, but he was sleeping mostly and it was too cold to get him out of his bundled up carrier.
Our newest next-door neighbors were awesome and so incredibly kind. She offered to bring us a home-cooked dinner over and insisted on feeding us and our guests. She went above and beyond... we had a great dinner (and dessert!) with so little effot - my favorite kind! We had a nice night in; the kids played well together and even went to bed close to normal bedtimes so the grown-ups were able to spend some time visiting.
Lounging in the morning in their matching Hawkeye jammies
(we did attempt a staged photo but it did not go well!)
And what would a trip to Springfield be without a visit to Scheels?!
Rudy and Aidan's first go-round on the ferris wheel - poor Sis wasn't quite tall enough
We all had so much fun and were sad to see them go!... a few tears were even shed...
