Grato

November 11, 2012:  Our first night at 1933 Outer Park Drive.
And it was raining.  One might take that as a bad thing, but it couldn't have been more perfect.  Every big event in our lives has involved rain -- so I look for it, actually, and I was so pleased to have it pouring down!

grato
grato/ 'grato/
Italian translation:
adj.
grateful

I thought this appropriate to hang in our kitchen to remind myself and us of all the things in life we have to be grateful for on a daily basis...and to help keep things in perspective.

I am so grateful for all the blessings in my life and I have lots to be grateful for. Some, but definitely not all, include...

I am grateful for a loving husband who makes me smile on a daily basis; who works tirelessly to provide for our family and literally put a roof over our heads; who is an effortlessly exceptional Dad; and who is my best friend that I grow more love for every day.

I am grateful for my baby boy, Rudy, who brings me more joy and love than I ever could have imagined; who lights up my world; and who reminds me what's important.

I am grateful for our baby girl on the way, who we haven't even met yet but love unconditionally.

I am thankful for our health; something that I am learning over and over again these days, should not be taken for granted.

I am grateful for our parents who give up so much for us; who show us what it's like to be the kind of parent's we want to be; who love and help care for our children; who are an essential part of our day-to-day lives.

I am grateful for our extended families and friends whose love and support is so appreciated; who are always up for a good time; who keep life interesting and entertaining.

I am grateful for our new house; for a beautiful place to raise our family that will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

And I am grateful for chocolate and french fries.  And John is grateful for peanut butter.

Did we anticipate the house project taking this long? No;

Did we realize what we were getting ourselves into when this project started?  Definitely not (or as John said, "I think my eyes were bigger than my stomach on this one");

Was the timing just right?  Finding out we were pregnant 6 days after closing, combined with everything else, I'm going to have to go with a "no" on this one, too;

But everything happens for a reason and we figured it all out in the end.  We have our health, we have each other, and we have a happy ending to all the craziness that's been the last seven+ months.

Now I'm guessing you want some pictures...??  :)

More to come on that soon...the crib is in the process of being assembled!

Overall, we have a few more things to do on the inside and lots of finishing touches here and there, but all of that will come with time.  We are more than happy with how it is now and we are taking some time off to enjoy our house, each other, our family, and the holidays...and we couldn't be happier!
